Stair Cupboard by André Verroken for Hof van Cleve - 1988
Description
Stair Cupboard, a masterpiece crafted by the visionary André Verroken, originally gracing the prestigious three-star restaurant, Hof van Cleve. This cabinet holds the distinguished honor of being part of Peter Goossens' personal collection. Made from ash wood stained black with a white laminated board and accented with rubber and polished steel, it exudes sophistication. The Stair Cupboard features six slides on telescopic guides, providing ample space to organize and store your belongings. Moreover, the ingenious design allows for the cupboard to be placed in the middle of a room or utilized as a room divider, thanks to drawers on both sides, designed in a playful manner. Verroken's dedication to geometric precision and architectural influence shines through in every detail, making this piece a timeless addition to any interior. Goossens is a perfectionist and it shows in his object choice. Everything had to be right, from the linen on the tables to the artwork on the wall. When furnishing their business, they chose almost exclusively Belgian design.
