Poul Kjærholm (1929–1980) was a Danish designer celebrated for his exceptional craftsmanship and his innovative approach to modern furniture. Unlike many of his contemporaries, Kjærholm deliberately embraced industrial materials such as steel, which he paired with natural elements like leather, wood, and cane. His designs are defined by their serene simplicity, flawless proportions, and an almost architectural precision. Kjærholm collaborated closely for many years with manufacturer E. Kold Christensen, whose high-quality production was essential in bringing his vision to life. Today, his pieces are regarded worldwide as iconic masterpieces of Scandinavian modernism.
