A long mid-century atelier table in solid wood, retaining its original green painted surface and distinctive utilitarian character.
Mid-Century Atelier Table, Europe - circa 1950
Description
This mid-century atelier table, produced in Europe around 1950, is defined by its restrained construction and honest materiality. The long plank top rests on a robust base with diagonal bracing, while the original green painted surface has worn to a rich, layered patina. A simple metal clamping mechanism allows the structure to be disassembled, reflecting its utilitarian origins.
With its generous proportions, the table seats 10 to 12 people. Though the maker is unknown, it aligns with mid-20th century European utilitarian design, where efficiency and durability guided form. As with all our rustic furniture, it has undergone a two-cycle preventive woodworm treatment for long-term preservation.
