Thomas Serruys Floor Lamp Contemporary Belgian design
Contemporary Floor Lamp by Atelier Thomas Serruys - 2000s
Description
Floor lamp by Thomas Serruys, a striking contemporary design that combines raw industrial elements with organic textures. The lamp features a tall, sculptural composition with a copper-toned shade, delicate metal framework, and a base covered in lush green fibers, creating a contrast between mechanical precision and natural softness. Its unconventional form makes it both a functional light source and an art piece.
Born in Bruges in 1986, Belgian designer Thomas Serruys is deeply fascinated by machinery, technique, and craftsmanship. In 2016, he established his atelier in the port of Ostend, where he works closely with an experienced blacksmith - a decade-long collaboration that has sharpened his ability to bring imagined forms to life. Serruys embraces the challenge of selecting the right materials for each project, ensuring a harmonious balance between concept and execution.
