Description

Carved wall panel, Studio Ponzio for Gruppo 4, 1931, constructivism. Masterpiece hand-carved panel from Italian pine multiplex. The artist group called this social art as it wanted to emphasize the new Industrial material which was multiplex. The artist plays with the different layers of wood and uses these creatively for shape and contrast. Nerone and Patuzzi were inspired by Studio Ponzio and continued to work with similar ideologies and techniques.
