A rustic Alpine folk art pine cupboard from circa 1800, distinguished by incised geometric decoration, hand-forged iron fittings and a richly aged surface.
Rustic Alpine Folk Art Pine Cupboard - Circa 1800
Description
This Alpine folk art cupboard was produced in Central Europe around 1800 and reflects the robust vernacular furniture tradition of the Alpine regions. Constructed from solid pine, its broad plank construction is decorated with subtly incised diamond patterns across the doors, complemented by hand-forged iron butterfly hinges and a decorative central latch.
The asymmetrically arranged interior provides several shelves and storage compartments, reflecting its original practical household function. The pine retains a richly aged patina with characteristic traces of historical use. As with all our rustic furniture, this piece has undergone a two-cycle preventive woodworm treatment for long-term care.
