Brazilian Modern Coffee Table by Jean Gillon - 1960's
Description
Brazilian sculptural modern wooden coffee table designed by Jean Gillon in the 1960s. It’s a remarkable and hard-to-find piece, in very good original condition. These chairs show absolute stunning craftsmanship. With its expressive look, this dynamic piece would fit well in each mid-century modern interior.
Brazilian architect and designer Jean Gillon (1919-2007) was born in Romania. He is best known for his design company Italma WoodArt, for which he designed a range of furniture collections in the sixties and seventies. Gillon graduated from the Architecture and Fine Arts schools at the National University of Romania. Only a few years later, when he moved to São Paulo, he started working on interior architecture, fine arts and design projects. At this point, his work became increasingly successful. Jean Gillon also collaborated with Indústria de Móveis Village, Italma and Probel, which produced his designs.
