Description

The PK9 chair, also known as the Tulip chair, designed by Poul Kjærholm and produced by E. Kold Christensen. Its distinctive silhouette, characterized by three impeccably crafted satin-brushed stainless steel springs that serve as columns, provides not only structural support but also a visually striking aesthetic. What makes these chairs even more exceptional is the rarity of the seat in its original leather. This not only adds to their historical value, but also indicates that the materials used are of durable quality. The real inspiration for this chair came from a sand print of Kjærholms wife after a day at the beach, resulting in a design that combines aesthetics and comfort. Each chair tells a story of precise craftsmanship and thoughtful ergonomics, as Hanne Kjærholm herself was involved in the design process by sitting in clay boxes to ensure optimal comfort. With a nod to versatility, these chairs transcend mere dining functionality and also look great as office chairs.
