The Lounge Seating by Trix & Robert Haussmann for Knoll - 1988
Description
The Lounge Seating, originally called The New Weissenhof Chair, was designed by Trix & Robert Haussmann in 1988 and manufactured by Knoll International. Knoll International design with an aluminum structure covered with mirrored glass on the sides, which immediately enlarges the space it’s in. The mirrored sides create an interesting visual effect through the reflection of its nearby surroundings. The black fabric provides a nice contrast to the mirror glass. This exceptional lounge seating would be a perfect match for an eclectic minimal decor. It’s considered a real icon of post-modern Swiss design.
The Haussmann couple has been questioning the modernist doctrine of continually inventing the new. They always turn to the history of architecture and art to extract and update existing historical models. For this Lounge Seating model, the couple got inspired by the Weissenhof Chair of Mies Van der Rohe (1928).
Comfortable lounge chairs, in good original condition, priced per piece.
