This chair is iconic for Brazilian Mid-Century Modern design from the 1960s. This particular piece is executed with a black coated steel frame and Brazilian wooden slats that are patinated. It's hard to find these iconic chairs in such admirable aged condition, which makes this a desirable set. The slats are straight in the middle and curved towards the ends and rhythmic positioned in a line. Carlo Hauner (1927-1997) and Martin Eisler (1913-1977) were both born in Europe, Italy and Austria respectively, and immigrated to Brazil after World War II. They were both very much invested in the modern Brazilian utopia of creating a better world.
