Bamboo Coffee Table by Axel Vervoordt - 1980s

Description

A beautiful example of Vervoordt’s distinctive, understated design language. This piece features a top crafted from narrow bamboo slats, offering a rich, organic texture and subtle tonal variation. The base is constructed from solid teak, adding warmth and weight to the composition. Drawing clear inspiration from Japanese aesthetics, Vervoordt masterfully balances simplicity, natural materials, and proportion. The result is a serene, grounded presence that quietly anchors a space - a reflection of the Wabi-Sabi philosophy he so often embraced in his work.
