Description

Comfortable upholstered lounge chairs by Pierre Jeanneret were created for the city of Chandigarh in India, the utopian city created by his cousin Le Corbusier. These armchairs are made of solid teak in exquisite craftsmanship. The backrest, seat, and armrests are slightly tilted and covered in light grey cotton cloth. The armrests with roll-style stuffed padding are left slightly uncovered exposing the wooden frame close to the backrest. The armrests sit on top of flat profiled X-shaped legs. In addition to its relaxed look, the design also reflects something strong and powerful at the same time. The simplicity of this piece also embodies a very dynamic expression. These chairs were made for lounging and were therefore often used as part of a larger set with a sofa or other seating. This design is a true icon, as it’s one of the most famous pieces of all Chandigarh items.

We also offer in-house reupholstering services, with a wide variety of fabrics to choose from. We have two of these chairs available, priced per piece.
